madre natura is an Australian luxury fashion house grounded in refined craftsmanship, quiet elegance and modern nostalgia. Founded by designer Jackie Galleghan, the house explores contemporary silhouettes through sculptural restraint, fluid tailoring and considered detail creating clothing that feels both intentional and effortless.

Galleghan’s design perspective is shaped by two distinct inheritances: the ritualised elegance of her Italian family, where dressing was intentional and deeply considered, and the coastal Australian ease in which she grew up. Between these worlds exists the language of madre natura — structure and softness, masculinity and femininity, ritual and ease.

The name madre natura, meaning Mother Nature in Italian, speaks to this idea of origin. Madre evokes the women and generations that shape us; natura speaks to the natural world, the body, landscape and the materials from which clothing is made. Together, they reflect a house interested in the relationship between woman, nature, memory and form.

This sense of inheritance is not about recreating the past, but translating it. Family photographs, Italian heritage, the Australian landscape and the quiet rituals of everyday life become points of reference for a contemporary wardrobe clothing that carries a sense of history while belonging entirely to the present.

Each garment is handcrafted in Sydney by a close community of skilled makers, using premium natural fibres sourced from mills across Italy, France and Japan. Collections are produced in limited runs, with an emphasis on considered construction, distinctive fabrication and pieces designed to be worn, lived in and kept.

madre natura debuted at Australian Fashion Week in 2024 with The Last Season Collection, presenting an existing body of work as a quiet response to the accelerated fashion cycle. The house has since been recognised within Australia’s emerging fashion landscape, including as a finalist in the National Designer Awards in 2023, 2025 and 2026, recipient of the 2023 Sustainability Award, and a finalist for the ELLE NEXT GEN Designer Award in 2025.
